Thanksgiving is the biggest pie week of the year at Schlabach’s Bakery in Guthrie, Kentucky. Our bakers prepare several thousands of pies for families across the region, along with fresh dinner rolls and sweet rolls that freeze beautifully. Plan one 9 inch pie for every 6 to 8 guests if you are serving multiple flavors, or one pie per 6 guests if you are serving a single flavor. Add a tray of dinner rolls for the main meal and a pan of sweet rolls for breakfast. - Reserve sooner rather than later
We recommend you place your order three weeks prior to Thanksgiving, for 2025 or larger orders by November 15th. Popular flavors tend to go quick, limited items and some week of restrictions apply during holiday production. - Choose pick up or local delivery

Storage and make ahead tips

Best enjoyed within 2 to 3 days refrigerated. Bake or pick up close to the holiday if possible. - Pecan

Freeze in the original bag as soon as you get home if you are holding them. Thaw overnight in the bag, then warm before serving. - Sweet Rolls

Reheating, day of serving

Place on a sheet pan, tent lightly with foil. Warm in a 300°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until just warmed through. - Slices
Warm uncovered at 300°F for 5 to 8 minutes. - Dinner rolls
Keep in the bag until thawed. Arrange in a single layer, brush with a little butter or milk if desired, cover with foil, warm at 300°F for 8 to 12 minutes. - Sweet rolls

Serving tips for clean slices
- Use a sharp, thin knife and wipe between cuts.
- Let custard pies sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes before slicing.

Where to start, flavor pairings for common guest counts
- 10 to 12 guests, one Pumpkin, one Pecan, one Apple, one bag of Dinner Rolls.
- 20 to 24 guests, two Pumpkin, one Pecan, one Cherry, two bags of Dinner Rolls, one pan of Sweet Rolls for breakfast.
- 40 plus guests, four to five pies, mix Pumpkin, Pecan, Apple, and Cherry, three or more bags of Dinner Rolls, two pans of Sweet Rolls.

What are the pickup dates and hours?
Pickups occur the week of Thanksgiving. Contact us for more information. Typical hours are standard bakery hours with extra holiday staffing.
Do you offer local delivery for Thanksgiving orders?
Local delivery may be available for qualifying orders within our delivery area, subject to schedule and capacity. Confirm availability at checkout or call the bakery.
Which pies are Thanksgiving only?
Pumpkin is holiday only. Other favorites like Pecan, Apple, Cherry, and Peanut Butter Chess are available in limited quantities during the holiday week.
Do dinner rolls and sweet rolls freeze well?
Yes. Freeze as soon as you get home if holding more than two days. Thaw overnight in the bag, then warm before serving.
How long do pies keep?
Most pies keep 2 to 3 days under proper storage. Custard pies should be refrigerated after serving or within two days. Fruit pies can sit at room temperature for up to 2 days, then refrigerate.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Changes and cancellations are limited close to the holiday due to production. Contact us as soon as possible. Once we start baking your order, changes may not be possible.
Is there an allergen note?
Our bakery handles common allergens, including wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy. Cross contact is possible. If you have questions, contact us before ordering.
What happens if I miss my pickup time?
We will hold your order until closing on the scheduled pickup day. After hours pickup is not guaranteed. Call the bakery for help if you are running late.
